Windscreen Repair - Molly the Motorhome 3

All sorted. Once the guy arrived and I showed him the easily located chip, and he felt about for the other one. The smaller one was too small to work on but he was able to clean it and resin it. The larger one was more easy to clean up and resin fed into it to fix it. You can still see where it was but it's not liable to get worse. So that should be all now until the next stone flies up!!!

Windscreen Repair - Molly the Motorhome 2

Today had an SMS from Auto Windscreens to say that they had checked with the insurance company and the excess for repair or replacement was £80. So rather than do that they have put the job through as a cash job. It's still £60! They asked me to pay online and I did so. It's a PITA but the small chip could become something more dangerous if left. The mobile unit is due any time after 1230 today.  It's over an hour since the "window" started. At least the rain seems to have stopped for now! I will be shopping around when it comes to insurance renewal next year. Wanting the same amount for a tiny 5mm chip as for the entire windscreen is ridiculous.

Windscreen Repair - Molly the Motorhome

When we had the habitation check dome at JC in April they found some damp but didn't mention there were a couple of stone chips on the front windscreen. There were spotted when we took it into Marquis when they checked over the moho before taking it in for the habitation and famp check over for the warranty. For the life of me I can only see one towards the bottom the screen, although there may be the second one towards the top just to the right of centre. I can't get up there to tst with a fingernail... Today I booked it in through the number on my insurance documents and was told the excess for the job is £80, that's whether repair or replace the entire screen.   Of course getting through to Lexham, the brokers, was impossible. They told me before that repair was free to me. Job booked in for tomorrow with the mobile repairer.
