Great result. Crap journey getting there.  I set off in my car at 1120 rendezvous with my brother at our Aunt's in Maidstone.  First problem. The M20 junction for J5 was closed so we had to detour through the town centre. Had they bothered to signpost simply going around the Running Horse roundabout and back onto the motorway would have saved 45 minutes in solid crawling traffic. Second problem. Roadworks on the M25 leaving traffic queuing in one lane on the M26 for two miles.  This is because the useless bastards activated "smart motorways", doing away with the hard shoulder without building emergency areas in case of breakdowns. Now they are retro fitting them.  Third problem. "The improvement" of the junction with the A3 from the M25. One lane again. This time everyone, no not everyone, queuing to get off. Other arseholes coming along in lane two to force their way in, often stationary in an active lane two with traffic moving at 60mph.  We eventually got awa...

During a Premiership lull Oldham are away in the South again, this time in Surrey and Woking FC.  We went last year as it was the date of  another lull with Arsenal away! Last year saw Oldham win 1-0  and the cost for an over-65 was £15. Scandalously it has gone up to £16 this year. Tickets bought.   It's Neill's turn to drive again. We'll park at our Aunt's in Maidstone and go in one car. I might go on the bike and lock it up at her's. It's a 3pm kickoff and Google Maps reckons about 75 minutes. I might take the camera 📸 with me this time. The photos I took the last time were pretty crap. The blog deserves better!😉

With another game in the South-East, that doesn't clash with an Arsenal season ticket home game, my brother Neill was able to come along too. We decided to meet at our Aunt's in Maidstone and take one car. As I paid for the tickets we went in his car. The financial jiggling can come later. Tickets for us fogeys are £15 and for that we had a seat in the main stand behind the goal. Parking was nearby and two hours is free. We just paid for the extra couple of hours. It was a short walk to the ground. We were there just after 2pm. The kickoff was 3pm. We managed to munch down a 10" German sausage and a coffee the temperature of lava before the teams came out.  If results were based on the warm up and shooting into the goal then we would expect 6-0 scores every week. The game was pretty even. Woking had a chance to go ahead but Holden saved well.  0-0 at half-time. Second half was a vast improvement and Latics came close a few times, but the shot at the end of the move was wea...
