Claire has been looking for something to get involved with. Something where she can contribute to society. She has recently begun to volunteer to raise money for the Guide Dogs charity. She did half a day at the school fete in Lympne a few weeks ago and Reggie and I had a walk around the village to the 12C church. This last weekend she did another stint on the Guide Dogs stand in Hythe High Street for "Hythe Hullabaloo" Reggie stayed at home when we first went to the stand and I actually got the Canon DSLR out of the house. I took a few pics of the Armed Forces Day Parade. The band is from our local regiment the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment and they were followed by the British Legion standards and ex-servicemen. Tomorrow marks the launch of the 2017 Poppy Appeal. This year we are once again asking our supporters to Rethink Remembrance by recognising the sacrifices made not just by the Armed Forces of the past, but by today’s generation too. Please do look out for coverage of our campaign. As well as advertising in national and regional press, we’ll also be unveiling our brand new nationwide TV campaign. Starting 28 October, two second teasers will air during peak evening spots on Channel 4 and its associated channels. Guessed at what they will call them. Look like a good idea. Bike stuff especially could do with some of these. The British Legion are apparently trialling them in South and West Yorkshire! So have to wait and see if they are produced in time for the start of the Poppy Appeal next month. I could do with a few for bike gear and hoodies.

The Royal British Legion have created a pin for the centenary. I bought a couple from a poppy seller recently.
