On the Road Again!

I hope this is the end of it! Apart from looking a complete and utter dick wired up to the electronics it was quite hard to sleep.  The box is strapped to your chest with the pipes up to the nose and the plastic thing hanging down it to catch mouth breathe.  It's hard to lie on your back as the excess strapping digs in and when you try and lie on your side the bloody box flips over or slides down. No matter how tight the straps are! I hope I managed the four hours they need to run through the data. Wouldn't want to do this again!

When I went to see the GP after my blood test results in November, he suggested that he would refer me to the sleep apnea clinic. I thought my poor sleep was in part due to the prostate problem with me getting up to pee in the night and taking time to get back to sleep. So today that referral came to fruition and the Tour of East Kent Hospitals took me to the Buckland Hospital in Dover. We were lucky to find a parking space not too far from the entrance. Only £2 a hour! The charge probably stops the local house owners parking in there! The technician took me through fitting the monitor. I need to wear it from about half an hour before I go to bed.  The only shock is no lie in as we have to be back in Dover by 9am to return the unit along with a completed questionnaire on how it went.
