On the Road Again!

Only four dogs at the foster home. Sadly Julie's older dog Cyder went over the rainbow bridge. He had developed a cancerous growth alongside his left eye. It was inoperable and so his last months were made comfortable. Last week he deteriorated and the vet out him to sleep. So at the moment we have Tyrone, who would be mine had Reggie not attacked him on the trial day (barking and growling - no contact) and three dogs needing new homes, Bark Obama, Uma Furman and Michael Canine. I started volunteering two mornings a week at Kent Greyhound Rescue after seeing and advert on Facebook. This was in January 2022. I am still going. I don't know how many dogs have gone through the foster where I go. The last few weeks we have had 14 dogs to feed and exercise. There are no paid staff and we exist on volunteers and donations. This is Tyrone.  He is one of the longer stay residents in foster. After breakfast and a run around it's nap time. Greyhounds do napping really well.

I think this is my fourth week volunteering here.  I feed each one and then get them to have a cuddle to socialise them, them get them to work off some steam.  Once I have that under my belt I can take them for walks.  If you are in the UK, and want a dog, then look no further. So there are always dogs needing forever homes. There are also bitches that have been used for breeding and once too old are dumped. The two brindles are reserved but there are loads more.
