On the Road Again!

Well, it's January and the usual time to start to look forward to the summer and holidays. With Covid-19 still the main focus of everyone's thoughts, it may be too soon. But. You need to think of something other than working from home (if you can, and I can) and spending 23 hours a day in the house with an hour for some exercise and to walk the dog.  Luckily we have things like TV and internet to pass some of it!  Even the drudge of walking around the supermarket has been taken away from many of us and we get groceries delivered. So my attention at the moment is on getting away in the summer.  A summer that unlike last year won't be marred by cancellations and lockdowns. A summer that will be warm and sunny, Today's incessant rain and freezing cold banished for a few short weeks in July and August. Last minute checks made...  main case packed.   The idea was to take just hand luggage and then we saw the size of  the two small cases that would fit in the overhead lockers.  Not really big enough for a week so we decided to pay Monarch the best part of an arm and a leg to take a hold bag!  Gulp.   So it's packed.  We have also decided that the DSLR's will stay at home as they take up too much room and this holiday is about R&R. Still, we can still take the compacts.   Today, the last brick in the wall was the travel insurance I had forgotten all about.   I have a folder with all the stuff we need in it, just a matter of taking out as we need it. Every year we go to Gatwick I try to book the same parking but every year it seems to be impossible to find it.  Fingers crossed.   The flight is 1625 which makes for a late arrival in Malaga. Fingers crossed again that getting to the apartment is not a problem.
