On the Road Again!

The pads arrived a couple of days ago. The van was in secure storage until this morning. Once back I fitted the driver's seat to see what they looked like. The old one is still on the passenger seat. Let's see how these perform. If they aren't any good or too uncomfortable, then maybe we get some different ones. The DriRobes ones look popular on some vans but they are quite expensive and I've not seen them on a van that wasn't a VW!

I blogged earlier in the week about these and that I had ordered a pair of black stretch Kevlar lined jeans from Bikers Gear Australia. According to eBay they were due to be delivered either Saturday 15th or Monday 17th. On Saturday I got a message, through eBay, to say that my size was out of stock. I could wait a week or have a refund. I had ordered a size probably a little larger than I needed as in my experience they come up smaller than others allegedly the same size. I replied immediately to say that I would take a size smaller due to the above reason... Not heard back yet. Let's see what Monday brings... Waiting a week would cut it very fine for my Assen MotoGP trip. I'd like to wear them in a few times before heading off on a 400 mile ride. Nothing worse than untried gear!

I have been after one of these for a long while. They seem to have stopped making them and although Google searches takes you to the Shad official website, there are no tabs or links to the seat any more. I emailed them months ago and they never got back to me. It's a complete replacement seat and what you see is what you get. I was prompted to look again after I saw fellow Meldrew Trevor C has one fitted to his 2016 1000 V-Strom when the club last met. If I had thought about it then we could have swapped it off his bike onto mine to check that it fits okay.  In the end I didn't think about it until the next day. I found this one on eBay but in Germany. As it is pretty rare to see one advertised I took the plunge. Obviously  the easy part of taking photos is to point the camera, maybe focus if the camera doesn't do it for you, and press the button. So far so good. The OM10 Truprint film went off in the post on January to  Stuart Cameras in East London. It was packed into a small padded bag with the printed purchase document from eBay. I weighed it to make sure it was under the 100g limit for first class UK postage. it was 48g inc stamp. The eBay receipt from the purchase as well as PayPal payment has my name and address on it. So where is it?  Who knows? I ordered the results to come back on CD rather than prints? Why? The film has been in the camera part exposed for the best part of 15 years.  I have no idea what is on it at all and so I though prints would be useless especially if the film was no good after all this time in the camera and in the wardrobe. I decided to go out to the garage and get the Solvol Autosol out and polish off the chrome where there is a little surface rust. Some of the Triumph chrome is pretty poor.  The spotlight brackets and even the chrome lump holding the ignition key are always a little grotty, So, I locate the half used tube on the chrome polish on the shelf. Rock solid! Like dried concrete in a tube! How to get some more. Shops that aren't pharmacies or food sellers are shut! Amazon?  eBay? Check out both. Amazon sellers can fill the order in the first week of May. It's not eligible for Prime!  Slip over to eBay. One seller can get it to me from the 18th April.  It's cheaper than Amazon.  Buy now!
