On the Road Again!

I had barely driven half way to Hythe when I started to get the flashing lights in my left eye. It's the introduction to a migraine. Of course, I was travelling light and my man-bag with my meds was at home! So after parking up in the Waitrose carpark the first stop the chemist in the high street to exchange £9 for 12 Migraleve pills. They have gone up in price dramatically over the last few years. The plan was for Claire to go to Pilates whilst Reggie and I would walk up the high street and then around the canal over a couple of bridges. Whilst Claire would be occupied for an hour we could whip round. By the time we had got to the Lady's Walk bridge the migraine had past. It took the best part of three quarters of an hour to get round to the car again. Another nice walk to make the most of the sunny day 

And they do indeed. I had a small one on the cruise a fortnight ago and a coupleof pink "migraleve" sorted that out but after Migraine Awareness Month ( http://invictamoto.blogspot.com/2018/06/migraine-awareness-month.html) wI am still no further forward in understanding why I am getting them.   It's not as though they are coming on a regular basis.  There's no pattern at all, or so it seems. I woke up yesterday to another strong one that actually woke me before the alarm went off (set for 6.45am). I had a couple of pinks and that was it for a while.  The tablets do say that they can make you drowsy, and I find that whatever the effect they have and whatever my brain is going though makes it much worse. I slept like a log until 11am and then felt tired and hungry all day!  A bowl of Frosties seemed to quell that for a while. Today I tried to get a doctor's appointment.  The plan is to phone dead on 8.30am and then keep redialling until ...

Have had a bad headache for the better part of 36 hours. Went to the docs and sent on to the ER. Been here six hours in William Harvey. Great care from all the staff but no nearer yet finding out what is the cause Tramadol are quite slowly working. Updated:  In the end after an MRI scan and a cardiogram they decided that maybe the problem was associated with my ear infection of a couple of weeks ago and maybe sinusitis or migraine. I already suffer from a version of migraine where I have the headache and associated flashing aura and tunnel vision.   Usually I pop a couple of pink Migraleve and in a couple of hours we can kiss the problem good bye. If caught early enough, then it is gone quicker. This time it is different. Five days since the headache started and it is still pulsing through my head but the drugs seem to have lessened the pain.
