UK26?
Decided... Today as we were driving back from Dover in the van we decided that instead of a second European trip in the autumn, that we would stay at home in the UK. Why? It really boils down to costs . In 2025 we renewed our Red Pennant European Breakdown and Travel insurance. It was cheaper in 2024 and 2025 than our previous cover with MAG Insurance for the travel (medical etc) insurance and RAC Breakdown insurance. Sadly as of 2026 Red Pennant is looking for a new underwriter and is no longer offering cover. Existing customers are covered though. Our cover is until August 28th 2026. We would be going late September.... We are covered for the May 2026 trip to Spain (SP26). If the Caravan Club can get a new underwriter to offer the same cover then maybe we will look at it. If we don't take it up we will save approx £450 based on this year's price. For a UK holiday we already have full medical cover through the NHS and breakdown/recovery with the Caravan Club.
