On the Road Again!

It's from 1991, the day before the Sinterklaastreffen and we were on the XJ900 heading for Ostend.  By the time we had got towards Veurne my visor, glasses and eyebrows had frozen solid. This pic was taken alongside the canal between Adinkerke and Veurne.  The only main route as the motorway between France and Belgium was some years off being completed.

As I had to cancel our trip to Gouda a few days ago after months of planning, we were left with a Shuttle booking that I need to change before the Gouda trip, this Friday (the 6 th July) or lose the fare as a no-show.  We both thought we'd like to go to the Netherlands again.  On the Gouda trip our chosen day out was to have been Amsterdam, so we decided to make this new trip to Amsterdam. It so happens that Arsenal are involved in the Amsterdam ArenA Tournament over the week of 2 nd and 4 th August, which fits in nicely when we want to get away.  Although getting one of the 1800 (!) tickets allocated to Arsenal supporters may prove a problem as it is so close and the away ticket people get first bite at the cherry over us mere Gold members.  Okay we have paid at least £885 for a season ticket this year. We have decided on the times for the Shuttle for this trip. Outward - UK to France - Friday 6th July 2007 at 0920 Inward - France to UK - Sunday 8th July 2007 at 1920 We will decide what will be the destination of Saturday's organised run at a later date.  At the moment the favourite is Amsterdam, although there is a suggestion to look at a motor museum.  On Sunday we plan to leave after breakfast for a leisurely run back with a lunch stop in Antwerp so that the ladies can dream about diamonds.  Link to previous post.

* THIS IS NO LONGER AN IMTC EVENT * Further to the original post we have decided to drop the need to send a deposit and to book rooms over the internet and allow members wanting to come along that freedom. The hotel will still be the Campanile in Gouda. To book direct, go to their website and book the room yourself. Just let us know you have done it. The run on Saturday will more than likely be to Amsterdam for a full day on our feet unless someone can come up with a better suggestion?
