On the Road Again!

It's next week. Saturday in fact. And I will be there. With Arsenal away at the weekend it was a good opportunity to see my "first love" again. There are limited chances in the south at the moment! It's a 75 mile drive over to Crawley. This time I have opted to sit in the seated area. The last time I went with my brother Neill and I drove.  This time I didn't bother asking him although it might have been time to get a ride in his hybrid Toyota! This last weekend Latics were at home to Forest Green Rovers. FGR topping the table. The game ended 5-5 with Latics coming back from 4-1 down. This means that Latics have scored a quarter of all the goals FGR have conceded this season! So I am hoping that on the 18th, they will show the same backbone and resilience and start to put together some wins.

A really superb second half performance from Latics.  Both teams quite poor in the first forty-five with passing to a team mate at a premium. Well worth the 160 mile round trip from home to Crawley via my brother's place. Video

Tickets arrived...

With Arsenal away and so no need to use our season tickets, Neill and I have got tickets to another Oldham Athletic game in the south, and easily accessible from Kent. The game earlier in the season ended with an Oldham 2-1 win so we have to hope for something along the same lines.  After some good performances and the win at Fulham in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup performance results have dropped away. The problem seems that Latics' defenders seem incapable of not giving away penalties.  The losses away at Doncaster in the 4th Round and midweek in League 2 at MK Dons, both due to penalties!!
