On the Road Again!

I have decided to cut down the number of blogs that I have active at any one time.  I closed Dora the Explorer when I sold the bike back in 2015 although I didn't delete it. It has sat in the background on list of blogs ever since.  The R3R blog was started once I had picked up the Rocket and rather than duplicate stuff, I have imported the contents into here too. Sometimes you have to cut back. Both of them will hang on there, in the background. If anyone wants a read then there they will stay. Suzi Triplo , the Suzuki GT750 blog, will continue 

Döra is fixed. Yay! A late call from Laguna came, when I was at cardiac rehab, that I missed as phones have to be off in the rehab area.  By the time I got a signal it was too late to pick her up tonight.  British Bike Night definitely missed. Jim at Laguna said that they had put in a warranty claim to Triumph for the alarm and the battery, and although they had turned down the battery claim, they had approved the alarm claim! The choice they had for me was to fit it, or not fit it and credit me with the cost of it to my account that effectively writes off the current bill as it stands.   As the alarm is a PITA I took the second option: no alarm and the credit to my account. So I will pick her up tomorrow morning and it will be my first ride since the end of March.

I like to keep the blogs separate and as such have far too many on the go at once. Occasionally there will be a crossover. I have a blog I share with Claire about our trips to Spain. We have been going once a year for quite a few years. I am always envious of the riders out there enjoying the Mediterranean climate. They are dressed for summer almost all year round. No waterproofs!!!! A few years ago I was there when I took my ex-partners bike to her in Murcia. In Northern Europe it was cold and wet in February. In the Huerta of Murcia it was dry. The locals were dressed in thick coats but the foreigners were in t-shirts!   I parked up at the University waiting for her to finish her class. Teaching not a student. I ordered the Givi plate for Döra on Sunday night and it arrived today. "Left with a neighbour" the email said. Then Claire emailed to say it had arrived next door. When the instructions say that things can be fitted with ordinary hand tools I usually don't believe them. They are right. There are no written instructions just an exploded diagram.  The tools needed are two Allen keys that I have no idea what size, but luckily I had them. Spanners are 12mm and 10mm. Firstly remove the Triumph plastic plate, then fit a couple of wings that will take the rack itself. Then with deft fingers fit the top plate.  It looks pretty good. The Givi E45 that I have was a bit dirty and so I have washed it and it wasn't ready for fitting!! Should be okay for the weekend or maybe open the wallet again.
