On the Road Again!

I left just before 11am as planned. Everything went okay. Even Dartford wasn't too bad. I arrived at the Stadium a little earlier than the satnav thought, but only by a few minutes. I ended up in parking S1. The guy on the gate wasn't all that helpful. At least my pre-booked ticket with RingGo seems to have worked okay in this parking lot. It's the same parking lot as when I came on the bike in August. With over an hour to kickoff I looked for somewhere to eat. Around the stadium are so many fast food places.  I looked at Burger King. No seating free. Same at KFC. Went into McDonald's. Quick turnover and cheap enough. To pay cash at the counter was easy enough. I went for the "Big Mac" meal. It's a long time since I last had one and it seemed smaller than I remember?  Not so much Big Mac as Middling Mac I did like the Grinch idea on the coffee cup. The day went down from there really. The day had arrived. The day for my first long ride since I came back from Assen over a year ago. In fact with only 390 miles logged from one mot to the next it didnt look good for my biker credentials... According to TomTom it was 124 miles door to door each way. To ensure I got there in good time to find somewhere to park Vera, and in case of heavy traffic, I planned to leave at 1130 for a 1500 kick off. Doable? I was away at around 1120. I was going to set the Yamaha My Ride but forgot.  Although the TomTom was connected to my phone and helmet headset, there was no sound.  First stop was Tesco at Ashford. The range shown on the instrument panel was lower than the distance to Bletchley and Stadium MK. Petrol and diesel is 3p a litre less than our usual Tesco at Cheriton. It shows what rip-off Britain is all about. The journey wasn't too bad as long as you discount the 50mph limit and the three mile queue to the Dartford Tunnel... So the first game back in League Two after too many seasons being "The first Premier League club to drop into the National League".....  Of course Luton Town did it the other way for one season and are now back in League One this season! Maybe they can emulate the great OAFC, and go straight through to the basement again. As I went to Wembley for the National League Promotion Final, I decided I just had to go to the first game back in the EFL.   Stadium MK is actually in Bletchley not Milton Keynes.  Let's make that distinction straight away. Although I used to live in Bedfordshire and visited friends in MK (worked and shopped too!) and Bletchley, I have never been to the football stadium. I plan to go on the bike as from home it would be a long journey on the train and even more tedious in the car.  Hopefully somewhere in the massive car parking that surrounds the stadium and all the shopping malls there will be space for one motorcycle.
