On the Road Again!

143rd!!!

Whilst I wait for the final tables to be published the new year's competition started on August 1st. As far as i am aware, everyone that took part is automatically entered into the new year. Just in case, I checked the forum and signed up anyway... I am also the only contestant from the UK!  I have mentioned it to my brother and biker friends and none have taken up the challenge.  My brother, Neill,  would have finished up in the top 50 quite easily with just one of his trips. Some of the mileages (kilometres) claimed by the Top 10 seem fantastical.  So I am hoping that with the miles I did on the 2nd August to MK will get me a decent start.....  I haven't worked out exactly how many miles though. Google Maps Timeline shows 245 miles. Its notoriously inaccurate but maybe not too far out. My next outing might be on Sunday for Meldrews as I am away on the usual 3rd Sunday breakfast run. The week after I am hoping the weather will be good and I can get ...

Here we are just a few days from the end of this year's competition.  The table at the end of June shows that although I added a few miles I am still in 119th place! I have been very bad and I hope to get a few hundred miles in before the competition ends. Final scores have to be looked by the end of play on August 3rd.  I guess that will be 11pm UK time as they are on CET and not BST! Unless "shadowgirl" has suddenly got moving, I should at least not finish bottom! I will automatically be entered into the competition for 2025/26 and hope to do a little better!!! On the face of it. I couldn't so much worse...

After so much time passing without riding, and without logging any miles, my position in the table has dropped. This table is before the June mileages are added to the tables. I think there is only one person lower in the table than me! Thank goodness for Shadowgirl! In the end I logged these odometer readings at the end of June. I can't remember the previous entries so have no idea what mileage I will have accrued since then.

This years competition started on August 1st. The day I had my MoT. Since then I have done very little mileage with the terrible weather and a few weekends away in the motorhome.
