On the Road Again!

The front garden has two raised beds and I like tulips. So I took a couple of photos of them.

Awaycation Tulips 6 marks the end of the planning and the decision to discontinue with this plan. Yep, you read that right.  Trip cancelled. It's is still a long way off but this decision has been a hard one to make.  As well as the ongoing and somewhat complicated relationship the UK has with the former "partners" in the EU since Brexit, and the apparent impossibility that Covid will ever be defeated we had a long hard look at plans. Another reason is that our dog, Reggie, has begun to suffer with what can only be called "separation anxiety". With both of us being at home since March 2020, Claire retired and me working from home online, he is used to us being around.   He follows us everywhere. Anyone that doesn't have animals in the home probably won't understand this can happen, but it is very real. So,  I will have to start looking elsewhere but in UK.  I will be retired next year and so we can go whenever we want. Outside school holidays is fantasti...

These are in the raised bed in the front garden. Instead of an expanse of lawn and moss Claire decided we needed these last summer.  We have added to them with a huge black tub that was supposed to be planted with rhubarb. The rhubarb doesn't produce much in the first year so we would be looking at 2022 for a first crop. Instead the supplier has delayed sending us the root ball until June. One raise bed has a variety of different 🌷 planted in it.

At the moment the National Trust places where there are houses and/or gardens are restricting the numbers allowed in and they are running a timed entry system.  The garden opens at 11am and I booked a ticket for entry between 11am and 1130am. On a sunny Bank Holiday Sunday the place would be teeming with visitors and coach parties. Today it was all very quiet and relaxing. Maybe they should keep the timed entry system all the time? Weather good and we left the dog at home. Although dogs are allowed everywhere outdoors on the estate they aren't allowed in the gardens.  So I could have a look we left him at home. A nice sunny day and after a visit to cardiac rehab for my assessment I took the opportunity to drink my free Waitrose coffee and get out the D50 and fire off a few pics of the few tulips we have in the garden that Reggie hasn't ground into the dirt! The "black" tulips are my favourite and these are growing in a pot.
