On the Road Again!

The solution. The same as I did about 2013 with the very old tech Canon 300D. I couldn't find what I had done with the adapter from back then. So I ordered one on Amazon Prime for delivery today. I already have a 4GB SD card that is rarely used.  The adapter cost around £11.50.  Mating the two together is simple enough. The SD card only goes in one way. The adapter is the same size as a normal CF card. So did it work? Yes. I took a couple of pix in the garden and of the dog. So the combo worked in the camera. When connected to the Surface, Picasa 3 kicked in.  Success. Next need to try it in the Dells.

What fun we have had with this camera today.  Not content with my old Nikon D50 and newer and hardly used Canon 1100D, Claire has her own DSLR. She's not used it for a while as she sort of "fell out of love" with carrying a huge and to be honest, heavy camera around.  Part of the problem was that that way after the warranty had run out the OEM lens packed up.  The motor for the autofocus stopped working. It was fixed once at Jessops camera shop but it failed again.  I sourced a replacement Sony lens for her years ago from eBay.  It's a 18-70 zoom.  It's very limited with a maximum aperture of 5.6. In low light it is shite. So yesterday I got it out, found the battery charger block and we charged the battery up to 100%. Today she took some test photos to see reacquaint herself with it working.  That went off pretty well and she has some nice garden photos.  That's when the problems started.  We have two laptops.  B...

Today, another Friday drive out.  We were up early as I had to return the sleep apnea gubbins back to the Buckland Hospital for 9am.  Once home we decided to get the van sorted and go out for a few hours to make sure the engine battery was in tip top condition. As usual (tough wood!) she started first turn of the key and we were away. Only to Dungeness to park up by the station cafe and have a walk across the shingle to give Reggie and us some exercise. I took very few photos on the walk. Once again the Sony Cybershot DSC-P200 got the nod as it fits in the pocket. Claire managed to forget to take her newly returned to service Sony A300 DSLR. Another staycation day between showers to take advantage of the dry weather that appears between them! Molly the Moho is still at the dealers and so we are in the car again.  It's about a 25 mile round trip to Dungeness.  This is officially a desert.  I kid you not. We had a walk on the shingle to the Polish Airmen's Memorial and then walked back to the station to have tea and wait for the last train of the day to arrive. Luckily, when the train arrived it didn't hoot the horn.. If it had, Reggie would have gone mental. Instead he ignored the sound of it wheezing into the station.
