On the Road Again!

Balcony seats have been released this week for us old people that can't (or won't) stand for the (entire) concert. It will be a bopping night welcoming The Dualers full band back to the Leas Cliff Hall. Maybe time for a polo shirt and DM's?

A local ska and reggae band from South London.  We first encountered them years ago when they were busking in Canterbury.  We have been to a few concerts in Maidstone and also saw them at Skabour in Folkestone in about 2012. The latest album is called "Voices from the Sun". A pretty decent album. Maybe all the gigging and appearances across UK and Europe will get them some decent airplay.

Back to Paradise It's some time since we saw the fantastic Dualers in concert. Maybe it was at the same venue or at Skabour in Folkestone. So I booked tickets for Mote Park in Maidstone. Have sensible e-tickets on my phone.

This weekend has seen Folkestone host the Skabour Festival again. Whilst not over hyped and full of pillocks like Glastonbury, and hence not as big, it is a good chance to see some reggae and ska legends performing as well as some established and up and coming British ska bands. Claire and I arrived at the Quarterhouse in Tontine Street to see The Dualers and their support The Estimators, a little before official doors open but we went in and exchanged our tickets for the wristbands; one VIP to get us onto the balcony seating. As we were so early we had a drink in the bar and then had a walk down to the Harbour to see what what was happening at the Trojan Lawn.  The disco was in full swing and there was plenty of dancing. After a some chips we had a wander back to the Quarterhouse.
