Southern Motorhome and Campervan Show 2026 - Part 2

Saturday evening we had another walk over to the marquee.

Tonight's entertainment in the main venue, the Barn, was Union Gap and The Foundations. The theme all weekend was 60's ...

In the marquee there was a duo to do sixties songs.  We bought a couple of samosas and some churros. Very international. 🙂

Whilst we were there the duo were setting up. We didn't stay though. Reggie was wanting to go. So we set off back.

An evening of YouTube despite the poor signal. We have to put the phone in the roof light to get some signal, or enough to watch the TV.

Sunday

Up a little late. It's Sunday. Claire wanted to see the Vanlife Eats guy demonstrating making a breakfast pie in the Ridge Monkey at 11am.

Reggie and I weren't really that interested and so we had a walk around the show and stopped for coffee and a chat at the Motor Caravanners' Club stand. The chat wasn't about motor caravans, but dogs.

Then we set off for the Vanlife Eats stand as we thought it might be winding up. It wasn't long before it finished and Claire set off the meet us in the food court. We followed. She was unaware until Reggie walked into her legs.

Lunch was er... Samosas. This time one lamb and one veggie.

On the was to meet Claire we had spotted a stall selling carpets and mats. Small mats for £3.

After lunch we tried to find it. It was further away than I thought but we bought two for the van. They are just about the right size for our doorway. They are non-fray but we probably won't as they fit quite well.

Oh. I also bought some plastic clips for the outside mat. At a quid each they seem good value and when fitted to the mat, you can peg it down to stop it blowing away.

At the van we read our Kindles. Before we realised it was 4pm and the show was closing. Reggie and I had another walk out.

A lot of people had packed up and left today and as we were walking more and more vans were heading out.

Dinner tonight was bacon and egg sandwich for Claire and a Sheldon's Bottom of the Oven muffin for me.

We took the flag pole down. Packed the flag away.

More walking, more  YouTube and then to bed.

Tomorrow, we head for home. We have to vacate by around noon.

As this was the first time we had used the van off grid and so we need to see how well it has performed.

More on that for anyone interested in the solar/lithium performance.

P.S. The other flag I mentioned in the earlier blog. It's a blue and white Oldham Athletic flag....
