Kilometerfresser 2023 - The End?
Six days to go until the end of the 2023 competition. With so few miles under both bikes wheels this year, I expect that if I have remained in the top 100 there will have been a miracle.
Since buying the motorhome last year many of my weekends have been taken up with family stuff, football and going away in the Moho.
As a result I am doing less and less riding of either of the bikes. I feel guilty. I love riding my bikes and since I retired I thought that I'd actually be riding more not less!
It's got to the point that after spending a decent amount of money getting the Kettle back up and running, that it hasn't been used at all this year! I don't want to see it rotting away in the garage again!
Claire wants to sell it. Who to? It's not a finished project and I have owned it for 39 years! It's part of me. The guilt just builds and builds.
Whilst the moho is in storage we aren't using it. it's school holidays and we don't like campsite over run with kids, I should be using the bikes. Instead, the weather has been appalling.
In Europe they have been suffering high temps into the upper 30's centigrade and into the 40's, here we have been lucky to get a day in the 20's and no rain!
Rain isn't biking weather!
In the June 2023 tables I have dropped to 89th!

The Kilometerfresser 2024 competition starts automatically for everyone sending in the July 23 odometer readings and pictures.
I have sent a whatsapp message to my riding buddies in the group "Boys and their Bikes" to suggest they sign up to the forum and then on August 1st they enter the competition. It's a bit of fun and they both do more miles a year than me.
So that's it... the clock is ticking.
