On the Road Again!

After the part fill last week in Framlingham when the light came on, I filled the tank today from the remnants of the 10 litre Aldi AdBlue. It took the best part of another 5 litres. The mileage on the odometer was 16386. It is now filled right up the pipe!

... to the jet wash. The garage at Seabrook has a jet wash. It gets you two minutes for a pound. There are six programs and you work through them. Some £10 later and I was finished.  All it needs is for me to give some bits a going over. Somehow you think through all the foam it's all cleaned!!! When i came to leave the road back to Hythe was chock full of traffic. So I went right and right again along Princes Parade. This is roughly the route of the old tramway.  It was horse drawn and was in use until the 1920's. One of the tram shelters is still there. It's been renovated in recent years. The land behind had been saved from an ugly development. Sadly, the developers are back to put up some more expensive rabbit hutches a few 100 metres to the left of here.

I bought one of these from Amazon. For some reason we go through a lot of AA batteries 🔋. So in the past we have bought rechargeable batteries and they have proved not to last very long. I have a Samsung charger and two Samsung rechargeable batteries that came with a Samsung camera.  Not too many Samsungs? The old batteries are Ni-Cd (Nickel Cadmium) 1.2v and these are 1.5v and Lithium.  The lithium should hold the charge consistently. The charger holds 8 batteries.  The way it works it can change any number between 1 and 8.  The charger input is USB-C so it's pretty easy to charge. Once we get some charged we can see how long they last. The green lights flash when charging and stay on when fully charged.

I left just before 11am as planned. Everything went okay. Even Dartford wasn't too bad. I arrived at the Stadium a little earlier than the satnav thought, but only by a few minutes. I ended up in parking S1. The guy on the gate wasn't all that helpful. At least my pre-booked ticket with RingGo seems to have worked okay in this parking lot. It's the same parking lot as when I came on the bike in August. With over an hour to kickoff I looked for somewhere to eat. Around the stadium are so many fast food places.  I looked at Burger King. No seating free. Same at KFC. Went into McDonald's. Quick turnover and cheap enough. To pay cash at the counter was easy enough. I went for the "Big Mac" meal. It's a long time since I last had one and it seemed smaller than I remember?  Not so much Big Mac as Middling Mac I did like the Grinch idea on the coffee cup. The day went down from there really. Tomorrow I have a day of travel to Milton Keynes to see Oldham Athletic play fellow League 2 side MK Dons in the FA Cup second round. I went up there on the bike in August for the league game. It was early in the season and to be fair a 0-0 draw was more than both sides deserved. It was that poor. More recently Dons have done better and are nearer the top of table than Oldham. I have a ticket and have pre-paid parking through the RingGo app. Although it looks a little hit and miss where to find a space. Although I had thought I had paid for N1, according to the parking management I can park in any of "beige" spaces. I chose N1 as it's nearest to the away fans entrance 3.   We'll see I guess.  I have the route into the Juke's satnav. Although it's "our" car it's essentially Claire's car. It's in her name for registration and insurance.  I am a named driver as her spouse. The Nissan Connect app only works on Claire's phone. ...

Lunch was booked for 12.15pm in the inn. Claire's sister and her husband don't live that far away and were due at noon. It's earlier than we normally would eat, but with around a four hour drive home, we didn't want to be too late. The meal was excellent and we even had a dessert.  Claire and I both had the fish pie. Loaded with cod, salmon and prawns.   We'd already packed up the van except the hook-up and so once lunch was over we could get going. It was just about now things went a bit awry. In fact very wrong. We decided rather than the country roads on the A1120 and A140, we'd take the shorter road to Yoxford and the A12 all the way to London.  Nope! Firstly at Yoxford as we joined the A12 a police car with blue lights came along. Fast.
