SP26 - Day 6

The appointment with the vet in San Vicente was at 1100. We were up in good time and on the road around 1015.

As it happens we made the appointment dead on 1100. Why?

The trip down the road and across the bridge into the town was easy enough.

The vet's surgery is a street back from the main road not far from the bus station. There's parking all along the sea/river front. Not a single space to be found. In the end we followed signs, over another bridge on the N634 to the parking. It was an underground car park. Further on was a small surface level free car park. Some spaces free.

The walk back wasn't too far but enough for and old dog.

The rabies vax cost €40 and his Belgian Pet Passport updated. Three more years.

Rather than walk all the way back we decided to have a coffee and then I would get the van and pick them up.

The walk back was okay. It didn't seem as far...

Once I had picked them up we headed to the next stop; the cheap fuel station at Unquera. Diesel at €1.459 (£1.269) on the Halifax bank app.

And then the N621 through the river Deva gorge to Potes.

A quick stop at the Lupa supermarket and then through then to the Camping-Car site at Vanventure.

The site is small, only 16 pitches, each marked off with ropes and as it is terraced, some walls.

We chose pitch 9.

One of the neighbours makes Jeremy Clarkson's "End Game" look weedy...

The sun today has been intense. You dont come to the Picos de Europa for 26°C temperatures. That of course kicked off thunderstorms and some often heavy rain.

We didn't do too much. Roll out awning out then in. The sun moves around behind us so we have the fridge in the shade.

In the evening we had beer and snacks before dinner.  Finishing off the tortilla and salad.

Tomorrow? It all depends on the weather.
