White Cliffs... Again!
This afternoon we had another drive to the White Cliffs. It's only about 36 miles round trip but it keeps the van starting and running.
The freezing and sub zero day time temperatures seem to have past by now, and it's rain forecast for the next ten days.
At the White Cliffs we were the only van there. Even the entrance kiosk was closed.
I took the Nikon again, but at 2°C I decided to leave it snug in the van and use my phone.
We took our reusable cups and Claire bought the coffees as I hung about outside. There's a nice porch area at each end of the visitor centre they could let dogs into. Both have doors to stop dogs infiltrating the shop and café. But it's no dogs except assistance dogs... even a 2°C.
We hurried back to the van and drank it there.
After the massive storm earlier in the week with allegedly 90mph winds through the Channel it looked much calmer.
As the sun disappeared the temperature dropped to 1° and so we set off home. The roads had been salted and gritted but they still needed treating with respect.
