Smoke Detector - Fire Angel

Fire Angel 

In the other vans we had smoke and carbon monoxide detectors that were fitted when we bought them. 

In the previous Molly, the Autoquest 175, I had to replace the smoke alarm as it went faulty.

For some reason Malibu Molly had neither fitted. I did buy a carbon monoxide detector soon after we bought the van in November 2024. It's one that can be switched off when not in use to save the battery. It's currently in the "pocket" by the gas cooker. 

Wisdom from other Malibu owners is to put it and the smoke alarm on the wall in the bedroom where the Truma heater is.


I have bought some Command strip picture frame style hangers to hang them as the Malibu wisdom suggests. Let's see how that works! I bought the medium sized ones that can apparently hold 5kg!

Roadtest - Suzuki TU250X

(Originally written and published on the old Geocities hosted SOC website in 1997)   With the UK Government thinking of ways to force commuters onto public transport on the one hand, soaking the motorist with the other hand - road tolls, commuting into City tolls, increased in Vehicle Excise Duty on top of another hike in petrol tax, the motorcycle couldn't be better placed to provide personal transport when you want it, in a more 'environmentally friendly' way. So when I was offered the latest addition to the Suzuki commuter range, the TU250X, I was actually quite looking forward to trying a bike that might fit the bill for the beleaguered commuter of the future.
