Chatsworth Christmas Market

I booked three nights at the Chatsworth Caravan Club site way back in February.

Originally I was only able to get one night there and one at the Lickpenny site not too far away.  

Then when I checked the actual dates with Chatsworth House I saw the event was on for longer than the last time we went in 2023.  So I booked the new dates and once confirmed, I cancelled the old dates.

We are there for three nights. It's not the cheapest break, but around £42.50 a night. It's where it is that counts.  As we won't have the awning out, just the electric to disconnect there's no reason why one day we can't take a drive out to Bakewell or Ashbourne or even Buxton.

Roadtest - Suzuki TU250X

(Originally written and published on the old Geocities hosted SOC website in 1997)   With the UK Government thinking of ways to force commuters onto public transport on the one hand, soaking the motorist with the other hand - road tolls, commuting into City tolls, increased in Vehicle Excise Duty on top of another hike in petrol tax, the motorcycle couldn't be better placed to provide personal transport when you want it, in a more 'environmentally friendly' way. So when I was offered the latest addition to the Suzuki commuter range, the TU250X, I was actually quite looking forward to trying a bike that might fit the bill for the beleaguered commuter of the future.
