Google Takeout!

I have been getting messages to say that I am using 78% of my storage with Google.  The majority of it is photos.  

So after googling how to save them to a hard drive I have initiated Google Takeout just for Google Photos.

I seem to have 15gb on my account.  This morning the email came to tell me that the files were read to download. They are zipped.

I left the file size at 2gb each and expected 5 or maybe 6 zip files. Instead there are 26!!! WTF!

I am downloading them to my MS Surface one at a time and saving them straight to a 128gb SD card in the expansion slot aka the d-drive.

One of the hassles is that each time I click on "download" I have to enter my password and then go to my phone to say it's me and enter the matching number! Not so bad with 6, but 26!!!!

Once done, each one is taking 20 to 30 minutes to download....


UPDATE

Moved to the big Dell laptop as it seems to connect far faster to the internet and files are coming down in about 5 minutes!

Roadtest - Suzuki TU250X

(Originally written and published on the old Geocities hosted SOC website in 1997)   With the UK Government thinking of ways to force commuters onto public transport on the one hand, soaking the motorist with the other hand - road tolls, commuting into City tolls, increased in Vehicle Excise Duty on top of another hike in petrol tax, the motorcycle couldn't be better placed to provide personal transport when you want it, in a more 'environmentally friendly' way. So when I was offered the latest addition to the Suzuki commuter range, the TU250X, I was actually quite looking forward to trying a bike that might fit the bill for the beleaguered commuter of the future.
