Relay Riders UK - Tomorrow

Just over a day before I do my leg and  maybe do the support rider's role for the guy who is following after me.

I have to meet the couple coming from Dover at the Lazy Shack in Hythe. I am supposed to leave at 1440. I plan to be up there around 1400 and stake out a parking space. There isn't much space there by the fisherman's huts.

I was hoping my event sticker would arrive but nothing in the post today.

As the bag that is carrying the bear and all the gubbins looks quite big I have stuck the panniers on to keep the box empty.

I must look out some bungies in case it's too big.

I have the route in the TomTom 410 and it's on the bike and locked in place. I know 95% of it and it's just the last  it in Margate I have no idea about. That's when it needs to be on the ball!!! Of course, that's when it usually throws a wobbler.

I have oiled the chain, cleaned the windscreen and run the engine. The TomTom fires up automatically when the ignition comes on.

The 410 is quite old tech nowadays. Upgrades still need a hard wire usb connection to a computer to download and install maps. No luxury of WiFi back then.

The next job is to make sure my helmet intercom is fully charged and will connect to the 410.  I'd hate to miss any instructions!!

It looks to be charging.  I'll have to take a phone charger too.... tank bag?

So until tomorrow....
