Staycation Autumn 2025 - Chatsworth Christmas Market

After we had to cancel this year's visit to Chatsworth and we lost the free night that the Caravan Club gave to all members, I started to look for 2025.

Finding the dates wasn't easy but checking the club's booking site I could see the dates that the site was fully booked.  In the end I found one night in late November with one free pitch!  I booked it. 

Then it's a long way. I started looking for another night nearby.  I found one at Lickpenny CAMC site in nearby Matlock.


It's almost a year away. At least this time the deposit is only a fiver.  So if the weather turns to be the same as this year, it won't be too costly.

Roadtest - Suzuki TU250X

(Originally written and published on the old Geocities hosted SOC website in 1997)   With the UK Government thinking of ways to force commuters onto public transport on the one hand, soaking the motorist with the other hand - road tolls, commuting into City tolls, increased in Vehicle Excise Duty on top of another hike in petrol tax, the motorcycle couldn't be better placed to provide personal transport when you want it, in a more 'environmentally friendly' way. So when I was offered the latest addition to the Suzuki commuter range, the TU250X, I was actually quite looking forward to trying a bike that might fit the bill for the beleaguered commuter of the future.
