If this sounds familiar to you, it's because we went in 2023. We both love a Christmas Market and the one at Chatsworth House is pretty good.
What clinched it for us is that we can stay at the Caravan & Motorhome Club campsite right alongside the Chatsworth Estate. There's even a private entrance for campers to get into the deer park and walk around to the market.
This year we are going later in the run for the event than last year.
Last year there had been a lot of rain and the river that runs past the campsite and the bottom of the estate had been flooded. By the time we arrived it had receded but a lot of the grass parking near the house, for day visitors, was still boggy.
Fingers crossed that this year it's not that bad. With global warming on the agenda all the time, maybe it will be 25 degrees centigrade and we can all wear t-shirts and shorts.... ;)
