Staycation 2023 - Christmas Market

One day to go and the weather hasn't let up with the rain and winds.

After the two storms that passed through in the last two to three weeks, we have another one, Debi, coming through over the next couple of days and this will affect the west and midlands.

Over the weekend we fuelled Molly up with diesel and lpg in Dover.

We then decided to clean the fresh water tank. I bought some puriclean in a tub from Halfords and that went into the tank here at home early on Saturday morning.  It took a while with the hose stretched across the drives to fill the tank.

It was left for a couple of hours and then we drove to the New Dover Road Park and Ride motorhome aire at Canterbury to empty the tank in their motorhome service area.

The P&R costs £4 for 24 hours or to 0000.  An overnight stay will be £8.  There's no ehu, and the loos are only open whilst the P&R buses are running to the city centre. The £4 allows free travel on the bus to the city for upto six people.

We left Molly there whilst we went into the city and on our return we drained the water and then filled it again from the fresh, and then drained it again to flush everything out. I need to put some more in when we get to Chatsworth as we are empty. I have around 5 litres in a bottle from France to out in.

A lot of other moho users only use the water from the onboard tank for washing etc and not for drinking.  In France we did buy bottled water as it is so cheap and very handy, but we have also used the water from the tank, as we boil it, for tea and coffee in any case.

I have just pumped the tyres. Another debating point. I have them at 76psi, as we were told by JC when we picked it up.

Getting to the valve is quite difficult as the wheels are fitted with quite short valve rubbers.  I have bought a new toy I saw someone recommend on one of the forums. It's made from brass and screws on the wheel end and protrudes over an inch into the aire to get the pump onto easily. Here it is on eBay. What a superb idea!

So now we need to start loading in all the stuff we'll need for two nights away.....
