Storage for Molly?

Since last year when the local Caravan Club site closed for the winter, Molly has resided on our driveway. It's not ideal.

She is locked with a pedal blocker and a steering lock bar and often a wheel lock.

I have recently bought a bigger more robust one but have yet to assemble it.

Our friends Anita and John have a caravan, this is stored at a guarded site in Hawkinge. I applied there and was told it was full and we are on a waiting list. It's been almost a year....

I was reading an article on a motorhome magazine's online page and there was a bit about storage.

The association in the UK is called CaSSOA and there was a link to the search page.

There are two locally. The one we are waiting for, and another about 6 miles away.

I contacted them, DJ Storage, a few emails exchanged and we went down yesterday to have a look around. Two gates to get through, one with an electronic tag. Cameras all over the place. And they live locally. It has a gold status with CaSSOA.

It's going to cost £70 a month. It's not cheap, but in the end, with thefts pretty high again, it's piece of mind.

I paid the first month to secure our pitch. With the completion of the work next week from Invicta Caravans on the gas outlet and then two weekends away we have over two weeks to getting her stored there!  Luckily we can access the site whenever we need to take her out.  I usually email, but I'll see if they have a WhatsApp login so that I can simply send a message to let them know when we are going to be there.

This coming weekend is August Bank Holiday. The last public holiday in England until Christmas 🎄.

Hopefully we can get away at least for a drive on Sunday or Monday to keep the batteries charged up! Even if it is only to Sissinghurst or Dungeness.

The next "proper" weekend away is to Nelson's Patch.
