I didn't sleep very well, something to do with the loud aircon and too much to eat and drink the night before.
Tea arrived at 8am - thought we had ordered coffee ?! Then off to Pole to Pole for breakfast. Had a selection of fruit and muesli followed by scrambled egg, baked beans, mushrooms and tomato, toast and coffee!
We needed to book a table in the East to West specialist restaurant so after the "Welcome on Board" session with the cruise director we sorted the booking for Monday night,
Next step was to get some exercise! off to the Verandah Deck where the sun was out so we delayed the exercise temporarily and grabbed a coffee before walking up to decks 11 and 12.
Paul got me to play my first ever game of crazy golf which was quite good fun but I don't think I will be taking it up - I was pretty useless. Back to down to the Beach Club where Paul was dying to help himself to an ice cream. He managed to make a pig's ear of it and spilled some on the floor!! They were also serving fish and chips there which smelled delicious but it was a little too early to start eating again!
Lunch was had in the Verandah Grill. We started off outside with a mixed salad and fish and then sardines and sausages from the bbq! We went inside for dessert as it was getting chilly. I had a strawberry mousse thing which was very nice and Paul had some cheese.
Took another stroll around the deck. The sun kept coming and going. Passed the odd oil rig - not sure if they are still active or not. Stopped for an ice cream. This time both operations were a success,
Back to the cabin for a nap... must be the sea air. Up at 1600 hrs for tea and cakes, then back to the cabin to start getting ready for the captain's cocktail party.
It was a formal night and so we were all dressed up. Paul looked so smart in his new suit and bow tie. We had our photos taken with captain and some taken on our own.
Into Pole to Pole again for dinner with 2 other couples. John and Jake from Blackpool - nice couple who we met up with over the coming week.
After dinner off to the Britannia Lounge for the jazz night. Really good clarinetist, Kenny Martin.
