Once again our motorhoming travels takes us to Norfolk. We must be gluttons for punishment going north all the time, but when you live pretty near the very south-east of the UK, north is pretty much anywhere!
With it being a football free weekend we decided to get away. It seems months, or maybe longer, since we were away in Molly!
The need to get away is strong. We are away the weekend after the UK's August Bank Holiday and it is still school holidays. Usually kids are back in school in the first few days of September on England at least.
After looking about I chose Nelson's Patch again. When we went earlier in the year I don't think we really did it justice. Reggie is a very reluctant road side walker and hates traffic. The road in front of the site isn't too bad for noise but cars are in the "national speed limit" zone, i.e. 60mph.
Last time we were on the pitch named "Dreadnought" after the ship that was at the Battle of Trafalgar. This time I chose a different ship to pitch up on - Irresistable.
As we are doing a weekend due to our volunteering commitments, the thought of trying to get over the Thames at Dartford either through the tunnel or over the Queen Elizabeth Bridge isn't one that anyone can relish, on a Friday!
So we have added a day! We will go Thursday when I get back from Greyhound Rescue and try and get through the carnage of Dartford before too late in the day. I have booked us into our favourite CL at Waterpump in Suffolk. It will be our 4th stay since we started motorhoming in 2022. It's only £20 a night, has hard standing and EHU and water on the pitch!
