I saw a post from only 4 minutes before I viewed it and it said the station in Hythe town centre (the only petrol station in the area!) had both unleaded and diesel. It's the "good stuff" and BP.
I togged up and hauled firstly the Kettle from the garage. Six or seven kicks and after a month of inactivity she burst into life. Suzy Triplo was awake. I made the short trip into Hythe and queued behind a couple of cars before my turn. Bugger. I was going to be one of those pillocks that fills up and already full tank!
I had forgotten on the way back from Rye in September that I had in fact filled the tank on the way back! So I was only able to squeeze (and almost overfill!) in 2.38 litres! Oh well. Now I know I have enough to get to Rye again on Saturday for the last Kettle meeting of the year.
I came straight home and benched the Kettle and decided whilst it was available that I'd fill Vera's tank too. Vera was showing 93 miles to empty and I repeated the journey. This time no queue and straight to a pump. At least this time I wasn't as much of a pillock and I squeezed in 10.48 litres. I had a little ride around to get the gauges up to speed, and miles to empty went up to 215.
