AZ - Day 6 (PD)

OMG! 😒 Day 6 already!!!

Today was the day we had agreed to go to the SPG presentation. As usual we told them that we wouldn't be buying anything as we are a few years off retirement and as they know, we have a timeshare. In the end the 90 minutes became three hours but we did get the $100 pre-paid Visa card in advance. That will pay for gas for the Charger.

I guess $33 an hour or $16.50 each an hour is more than we'd earn at a burger joint locally. More than I get paid for my real work!!!!

Once that was over, a great idea but simply not in the range of my bank account or future earnings, we went for lunch. Claire chose Denny's. I tried to avoid the inevitable 101 but failed. I have begun to dislike the Pima Freeway.

Lunch was excellent. This Denny's has booths and is comfortable. The service is always good, something we still don't get used to in England!

Another quick visit to a Walmart got us a backpack (they don't know what a rucksack is!) and another selection of underpants. I might never come back and they are soooooo comfortable!!!

Next stop the World of Butterfiles. It's on Via Ventura right by the 101 but I managed to get TomTom to avoid it. Success!!

To say this is a delight is selling it short. It is marvellous. To walk around with thousands of butterflies fluttering about is so very exciting.

Just a few of the inhabitants:

If you don't see any you like. I have hundreds more on my camera...

Oh. I missed out one thing. We called in at HD of Scottdale.

Currently the largest HD dealer in the world. It is massive.

It comes complete with restaurant, cinema and tattoo parlour under one roof plus hundreds of new bikes.

How anyone can afford $42000 for a bike eludes me. But judging by the number of staff they must have a lot of sales to pay their wages or they are all on commission only!

We don't see the trikes in the UK dealers and these are about $28000! They look well finished. There are two models. The one above has almost enough luggage space for Claire!

Rental is from $99 a day. I doubt it gets one of these though.

Oh. And I bought a tee shirt! Yeah I know, but it is quite tasteful.

And so. Back to the Desert Oasis to try out the quiet pool again, only to find kids in it with lilos and noise.

Once they cleared off,  quiet returned and we had a swim and relax before the sun dropped behind one of the buildings.

Dinner was in the apartment again. Some franks and potato salad and 'slaw, whilst watching the latest two Star Trek movies with Chris Pine as James T Kirk. Just in time for the third film coming out in July.

As the Miller we bought last weekend so awful,  we picked up some local brews, tonight was Grand Canyon "American Pilsner" beer from Wiliams AZ.  Not bad and more flavour than the other chemical stuff.

Claire opted for a cider. Something odd about a brand called Angry Orchard!

And once they had saved Kirk with Khan's blood it was time for bed.

The butterfly place looks really pretty. Glad you could find a rucksack in Walmart - they have everything even if called by something different.
